Decorate and personalize your ride with Tyrone "Baybe Champ", the Scraper Bike King! Supplies will be provided but feel free to bring along any tinfoil, colorful cardboard, candy wrappers, and paint that match your frame. We'll have plenty of duct tape on hand in various colors. This program is the last of various bike related programs, like a group ride and author talk with Elly Blue, going on in May, through a Book to Action grant.

Also, Oakland Public Library is working with local bike shops to get library users the bike gear you need to keep safe. Show your library card at participating stores from May 1, 2014 through May 31, 2014 and get 10% off parts and accessories. Shops confirmed at the moment include Bay Area BikesManifestoLakeview Bicycle, and Montano Velo. There will be more stores, and more information about other events and volunteer actions that Oakland Public Library will be doing with Cycles of Change, so keep checking the OPL website.

Book to Action is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
