The library will be closed on Saturday, July 4th, for Independence Day.
The 81st Avenue TeenZone is the perfect place to meet friends, use computers, grab some CDs and video games, or just hang out. As the newest TeenZone in the Oakland Public Library system, the 81st Avenue TeenZone was designed with teens in mind.
There is a lounge area where teens can kick back on cozy multi-level couches, and a giant flat screen TV for video game tournaments and special programs.
The TeenZone boasts a large collection of teen interest materials including CDs, DVDs, video games, manga, magazines, graphic novels, books, and books in Spanish.
After school, teens have priority on the four computers in the TeenZone. A community board for teens displays local opportunities in recreation, employment, education, and more.
There are frequently library programs, and a weekly Video Game Day every Saturday from 3-4:30. Drop in and check out the gem of East Oakland at the new 81st Avenue TeenZone.
