LINK+ gives you free access to millions of books from over 50 libraries!
LINK+ is a combined catalog of over 10 million books from libraries throughout California and Nevada. With your Oakland Public Library card, you can request any LINK+ book that isn't available from OPL to be delivered to your local branch.
Just click on the LINK+ symbol in the Oakland Public Library catalog if you don't find what you want in our collection.
Then click "Request" for that book in the LINK+ catalog.
Fill in the requested information. Choose the branch where you want to pick up the book. LINK+ will tell you if you can get that book.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is my PIN?
Your PIN would have been set up when you applied for your library card. If you do not have a PIN or have forgotten your PIN and it needs to be reset, you can do so by calling or visiting any Oakland Public Library location.
What if my library card is expired?
LINK+ will not work with an expired library card. Your card expires every year, and you can renew it by calling or visiting any Oakland Public Library location.
How long can I keep my LINK+ book?
You can borrow LINK+ books for 21 days, with one renewal of 21 more days.
How much does LINK+ cost?
LINK+ is free, as long as your materials are returned on time. LINK+ materials accrue overdue fines at the rate of $1 per day, and have a lost fee of $115.
How will I find out that my book has arrived?
You will receive an e-mail to the e-mail address in your library record when your book arrives. If you don't have an e-mail address on file, you will receive a letter to your mailing address.
How long do I have to pick up my book?
LINK+ materials will be held at the branch for up to 10 days.
How are LINK+ books checked out?
Just like OPL books. Check out the LINK+ books at your branch when you are notified that they have arrived.
How are LINK+ books returned?
When you are done with a book, return it to any OPL checkout desk or drop box.
