Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Oakland Hills Firestorm.
On October 20, 1991, a devastating fire storm roared through the Oakland and Berkeley hills killing 25 people and destroying over 3,000 homes.
On the one year anniversary the Fire Art Project was orchestrated by Ruth Block. It consisted of 35 venues throughout Oakland and Berkeley showing art created as result of the fire.
For the month of October 2016, the gallery at Rockridge Library will show many pieces from the 1992 Fire Art Project.
