Come to a showing of short films by Jehnovah Carlisle, local independent filmmaker (and until recently, an Oakland Public Library worker).

Before he relocates to stardom in Tinseltown, we will see three of his short feature films:  "A Call to Grace," about a serendipitous connection between a runaway teen and a father recently released from prison, "Day by Day", the story of a low-income single father and his 11-year-old son, played by Carvell & Ezra Wallace, and "The Man who Feared," an episode in the epic of gentrification in West Oakland.

Carlisle will be on hand for discussion and Q&A.

This event is part of a series at the Temescal Branch Library of Saturday afternoon "salons," featuring members of the immediate community who are contributing to the cultural fabric of our region & our nation.
