Oakland in the Civil War with Dennis Evanosky
As part of the on-going national recognition of the Civil War's sesquicentennial, local history scholar, newspaperman and iconoclast Dennis Evanosky will host an afternoon salon to survey the contributions of Oakland and its residents to the abolition of slavery and the preservation of the union. He will describe and locate some important monuments to the Civil War in Oakland, some of the most significant ones in the community once known as Temescal.
