Gone Feral: Tracking my Dad through the Wild : Book Launch with Novella Carpenter
Oakland's Novella Carpenter will launch her new memoir, Gone Feral: Tracking my Dad through the Wild, at the Temescal Branch Library.
Her previous book, Farm City, was the most recent selection for One Book One Marin, that county's annual public library reading program. That book helpt to distinguish her as one of the leading proponents of urban farming and establish her Ghost Town Farm here in Oakland as an international model for inner-city food production.
Her newest book, released the day of this event by Penguin, is the story of her search for her father and the discovery of his back-to-the-land existence in the ranchlands of Idaho & his idiosyncratic personality.
Carpenter will read from her work in a salon-style setting as part of an on-going Saturday series at the Temescal Branch Library.
Copies of the book will be available for sale by Diesel Books.
