Alastair Johnston: Tramp Printing Then and Now
As part of an on-going series of Saturday salons at the Temescal Branch Library, Alastair Johnston, the acclaimed East Bay typographer, world music DJ, critic, opinionated culture pundit, designer, fine printer, blogger, and publisher will discuss his two recent books, Typographical Tourists: Tales of Tramping Printers (Berkeley: Poltroon Press) and Hanging Quotes: Talking Book Arts, Poetry and Typography (Victoria, Tex.: Cuneiform Press).
He will also host an open forum on independent publishing and quality design in a world of e-books, publishing-on-demand, and the blogosphere. Copies of Poltroon Press materials will be available for sale.
