Repujado/Metal Embossing with Rachel-Anne Palacios

Image advertising Repujados Program at Oakland Public Library

Learn the art of metal embossing and take home a repujado milagro in honor of Latino Heritage Month and to put on your Día de los Muertos altar. Multi-cultural craft artist Rachel-Anne Palacios will also create a traditional ofrenda at the library and explain the cultural traditions of Dia de los Muertos. Participants may bring their own ofrenda item and/or include a picture of a loved one to be honored at the table for the class.  (These programs are generously funded by the City of Oakland's cultural funding program. Ofrenda items brought should be taken home after the class. Photocopies of images are recommended)
