Lake Merritt Draws! Sketching the Lake's New and Historic Attractions

Lake Merritt Draws! Sketch by Ceinwen Carney

The International Urban Sketchers manifesto is “We show the world, one drawing at a time!”  Started in 2007, the Urban Sketchers movement encourages people to get out and draw their communities.

Come and meet the Urban Sketchers SF Bay Area at the Main Library. Representatives from local community organizations will discuss Lake highlights, including the Lake revitalization project, historical and architectural landmarks, urban sketching, outdoor sketching tips and art materials. Sketchbooks, drawings and paintings by Urban Sketchers will be on display throughout the library the entire month of July.

This event is part of the 1ST Annual West Coast Urban Sketchers’ Sketchcrawl! For more information see and
