For April's meeting, we're back at the Golden Gate Branch!

April's book is Women on Wheels: A Handbook and How-To for City Cyclists, by April Streeter.

From Microcosm Publishing:

This small, beautifully designed book is intended to inspire women to start—or keep—bicycling for transportation. Covering the history of bicycling in the feminist movements of the late 1800s, as well as tips, resources, and encouragement for modern-day women seeking to make cycling a part of their life, this little pick-me-up and motivational brick makes us smile! From picking out a bicycle to finding your bike “tribe” to simply gaining confidence on two wheels, this book is an ideal guide.

Stop by Golden Gate for a free copy!

Coming up in May...

Celebrate Bike Month with a free movie night at Luckyduck Bike Shop & Cafe! We will be screening California Golde, an ode to "analog" bike touring shot on glorious Kodak Super 8. More details soon! Thursday May 2 at 7:00pm.

Please call 510-597-5023 or email esanders@oaklandlibrary.org with any questions.
