Cool Season Gardening

Vegetables

What makes the Bay Area so wonderful for cool season gardening? Did you know that we can garden year-round in the Bay Area? Come to the Master Garden of Alameda County talk, presented by Susan Fritz, to learn what you can grow, how to prepare your soil and how to protect your cool season garden from pests.

Susan Fritz has been an Alameda County Master Gardener since 2014 and has been gardening since childhood when she started learning from her parents how to care for ornamental plants. Her love of plants extended to vegetables when she purchased her first home in Fremont. She grows a variety of berries, fruit trees, vegetables and herbs in 5 raised beds in her backyard. She is the current project lead for the Speakers Bureau of the Master Gardeners of Alameda County.
