EXHIBIT:
Disaster and Recovery: A Decade After the Oakland Hills Fire
Ten years after the devastating Oakland hills fire, the hills have sprung back, renewed. The Oakland History Room of the Oakland Public Library commemorates the firestorm and the community's recovery with a new exhibit, "Disaster and Recovery: A Decade after the Oakland Hills Fire." The exhibit will feature photographs of the fire and its aftermath, and artifacts from the period of rebuilding. This exhibit is being mounted in conjunction with the City of Oakland's commemorations of the Fire Anniversary and the California 2001 Wildfire Conference.
