Oakland Bookmobile Gets A New Look!***************************************************************************************************************************************** (Oakland, CA)— The Oakland Public Library’s roving library on wheels will be temporarily out- of-service beginning Monday, December 10, 2007. The bookmobile is tentatively scheduled to resume its normal schedule on Monday, December 31, 2007. The bookmobile will be getting new artwork to brighten its rainbow-colored hues which have been looking a little faded recently due to exposure to sunlight and the grime of city streets. The bookmobile currently makes an average of sixty stops per month in Oakland, Piedmont and Emeryville. Stops include preschools, senior care facilities, rehabilitation centers and streets stops in neighborhoods that are remote from a public library facility. The bookmobile features a full range of materials that include books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, videos, and games in several languages, including Spanish and Chinese. For more information about the closure or Oakland Public Library’s bookmobile services, please call (510) 238-6718, or visit the library’s Website at www.oaklandlibrary.org. The Oakland Public Library is a department of the City of Oakland.
