Holiday Events Light Up
The Oakland Public Library

(Oakland, CA)— Let Oakland Public Library’s winter programs for children warm your family and friends this holiday season! These free, multicultural fairytales, stories, puppet shows, sing-alongs, and more will bring together the whole family at this joyous time of year. A listing of these events follows:

Bonnie Lockhart presents “ Peace, Light, & Chocolate: Holiday Songs from Many Traditions:”
Share the pleasures of the holiday season with sing-along songs from various cultures for children and their families.

Opera Piccola presents Multicultural, Musical Tales for the Holidays.
“Chac, the Rain Spirit” ( Mexico) is an ancient Mayan tale that brings a moving message for today while it involves audiences through captivating Mayan dance. “Hansel & Gretel” ( Germany), Grimm’s famous story, comes to life in an energetic adaptation of Engelbert Humperdinck’s folk opera from 1893.
