Check Out These Legal E-Books 24-7

****************************************************

(Oakland, CA)—Got a legal question? Need a law form? Getting answers about legal matters just got faster and easier at Oakland Public Library, where a recent acquisition of over 200 popular self-help law e-books brings our total e-book collection to over 5000 titles. Library e-books can never be lost or stolen, and patrons can search e-books for keywords and easily print-out individual pages. Additionally, Oakland library card holders with Internet connections can have access to full book content at any time of the day or night. In combination with our regular collection of legal books and our free weekly Lawyers in the Library program, Oakland Public Library is a cost-effective first stop for anyone seeking to resolve a legal matter.

Most of the new legal e-book titles are published by the popular Nolo Press, including titles like 101 Law Forms for Personal Use, How to Form Your Own Corporation, How to Get a Green Card, Tax Deductions for Professionals, Grandparents’ Rights, and many more. Like these titles, the library’s e-books all come from major publishers and have been previously printed on paper, but as e-books they’re available in digital form and can be viewed over the Internet at a patron’s home or at a library computer. To view the e-books from home, patrons with an Oakland Public Library card can establish a free account with NetLibrary, a step that usually takes only five minutes. Internet firewalls or other technical problems can interfere with the process, in which case there’s a link to contact library staff for help. Once connected to NetLibrary, patrons can search for e-books by author, title, subject, or keyword.

For more information, please call (510) 238-3138, or see the Library's Web site: www.oaklandlibrary.org. The Oakland Public Library is a department of the City of Oakland.
