Get Homework Assistance For Teens

(Oakland, CA)— High school and middle school students in Oakland who need homework help now have a new option: their public library. The Oakland Public Library will launch a free drop-in Homework Assistance Program for teens, ages 12 to 18 years old, beginning September 4, 2007. Teens who want help in English, math, research and science from an experienced volunteer tutor can come to one of six Oakland libraries for assistance. No advance registration is needed; just drop in on the days you want homework help to complete your assignments.
The schedule is as follows:
Asian Branch , 388 9th Street, Suite 190: Mondays & Tuesdays, 6 – 8 pm (math only)
Dimond Branch , 3565 Fruitvale Ave.: Saturdays, 10 am-12 pm
Eastmont Branch , Eastmont Town Center, 7200 Bancroft Ave., Suite 211: Mondays, 3 - 7 pm & Saturdays, 1 – 5 pm
Golden Gate Branch , 5606 San Pablo Avenue: Saturdays, 2 – 4 pm
Main Library-West Auditorium , 125 14 th Street: Wednesdays & Thursdays, 6 – 8 pm
Melrose Branch , 4805 Foothill Boulevard: Mondays, 5 – 7 pm
