Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows
Midnight Release Party

WHO/WHAT: To celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final installment in the popular Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowlings, the Oakland Main Library will be hosting a special free Midnight Release Party on the eve of its release. Both public and staff will be dressed in Harry Potter costumes and activities will include making wizard hats and wands led by Museum of Children’s Art (MOCHA) artists; music by Harry Potter-inspired live bands, including Love Potion No. 9 ¾, The Raza Farians, and Bramble and Briar; a screening of a Harry Potter film with popcorn and polyjuice potion; and a chance to win a raffle to be one of 100 winners to borrow the new book just after midnight! The first 100 reserves on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will also be checked out to lucky readers.
